The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the much-anticipated exam schedule for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2025 session. Aspiring Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellows, your wait is over. The exam will be conducted from June 25 to June 29, 2025 in multiple shifts across various centers in India.

🗓️ UGC NET 2025: Exam Schedule and Important Dates

The UGC NET June 2025 exam will span five days, conducted in two shifts daily:

Morning Shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

These exams will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for 85 subjects. A detailed subject-wise schedule will be released by NTA in due course, and candidates are advised to keep checking the official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in for updates.

City Intimation Slip: Know Your Exam City in Advance

Before the admit card is released, candidates will get access to a City Intimation Slip. This is expected to be available in the third week of June 2025.

This slip will let you know the city where your exam center is located, allowing you time to make travel arrangements or accommodation bookings if needed.

Admit Card Release: What to Expect

The UGC NET 2025 Admit Card will be released just a few days before your exam—most likely 2–3 days before your scheduled date. It will contain:

Your name and application details
Exam date and shift
Reporting time and instructions
Name and address of your exam center

The UGC NET exam is conducted in a single session of 3 hours (180 minutes) with two papers—Paper I and Paper II—both comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

📊 Who is Eligible to Appear for UGC NET?

To be eligible for the UGC NET exam:

You must have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Transgender candidates).
Final year students can also apply.
There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor.
For JRF, the age limit is 30 years (with relaxation for reserved categories).
